Working With Our Procurement Team
We buy two things: the biomass that fuels the plant, and the goods and services that keep it running. Both follow the same published rules.
Biomass Suppliers
Sugar mills, farmers, FPOs and aggregators selling bagasse, press mud and crop residue.

Updated regularlyProcurement Policy
The principles applied to every purchase, from a truckload of bagasse to a major contract.
How We Award Business
- Written specification. Every enquiry states scope, quality and delivery requirements in writing before quotations are invited.
- Comparable quotations. Purchases above the threshold value require quotations from at least three qualified parties.
- Evaluated on total value. Price, quality, delivery reliability, safety record and after-sales support are all weighed, not price alone.
- Local preference at parity. Where capability and commercial terms are comparable, suppliers from Ahmednagar district are preferred.
- Documented decision. The basis of every award is recorded, and unsuccessful bidders may request feedback.
- Agreed payment terms. Payment terms are fixed in the purchase order and honoured on the stated dates.
Our Code of Conduct
- No facilitation payments. No employee may solicit or accept any payment, gift or favour to influence a purchase decision.
- Declared interests. Any personal connection between an employee and a supplier must be declared and recorded.
- Confidentiality. Commercial information submitted by a bidder is not disclosed to competitors.
- Lawful labour. No child labour, no forced labour, and statutory wages and benefits for all contract workmen.
- Safety compliance. Contractors follow our site safety rules in full.
- Report concerns. Any supplier who believes these standards have been breached may write to us directly.
Concerns may be reported in confidence to info@sparkgreenahmednagar.com, marked for the attention of the directors.
Sustainability Standards for Suppliers
What we expect from the people who supply our fuel and our services.
Residue, Not Forest
Fuel must be genuine agricultural or agro-industrial residue. We do not purchase biomass derived from felled trees or from land cleared for the purpose.
Traceable Origin
Suppliers must be able to state the mill, farm or aggregation point a consignment came from. Random verification is carried out.
Clean Consignments
Loads must be free of soil, stone, metal, plastic and other contaminants. Contaminated loads may be rejected or down-priced at the weighbridge.
Controlled Moisture
Moisture is measured on arrival and affects the price paid. Covered transport in the monsoon protects both the load and its value.
Roadworthy Transport
Vehicles must be within permitted load limits, with valid fitness, permit and insurance, and a licensed driver.
Fair Treatment
Where a supplier aggregates from farmers, we expect those farmers to be paid fairly and promptly.
Supply Biomass to the Plant
The plant runs on agricultural residue. If you have it, we want to buy it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What moisture level do you accept for bagasse?
Drier fuel burns better and is priced higher. Moisture is measured on arrival and the rate is adjusted accordingly. Share your typical moisture content when you register and our fuel team will confirm acceptance and indicative pricing.
Do you collect from the farm or mill, or must we deliver?
Both arrangements are possible. For larger quantities we can organise transport; otherwise delivery is to the plant gate at M.I.D.C. Nevasa. The basis is fixed in writing before supply begins.
How and when are suppliers paid?
Payment terms are agreed at registration and stated in the purchase order, based on quantity, quality and delivery schedule. Payment is made by bank transfer to the account you register with us.
Is there a minimum quantity?
No fixed minimum. We work with individual farmers with a few tonnes and with mills supplying continuously. Aggregating through an FPO or a local trader is often simpler for small quantities.
What happens if a load is rejected?
Loads are checked at the weighbridge. If a load is contaminated or outside the agreed specification, you are informed at the gate with the reason recorded, and the load is either down-priced by agreement or returned.
How long does vendor registration take?
Once your complete document set is received, assessment normally takes two to three weeks. You are informed of the outcome either way.
Do you deal with agents or intermediaries?
We deal directly with the supplier or contractor performing the work. No agent has authority to represent the company or to collect payment on our behalf.
