Our Operations

A 12.5 MW biomass generating station: the equipment, the fuel, and the process that turns crop residue into grid power.

The Nevasa Plant

Our generating station occupies Plot No. B-4 in the M.I.D.C. Nevasa Industrial Area, positioned deliberately inside one of India's densest sugarcane belts.

The plant follows a conventional Rankine steam cycle. Biomass is burnt in a high-pressure boiler; the resulting superheated steam drives a turbine; the turbine spins a generator; and the exhaust steam is condensed and returned to the boiler. The design is well proven in Indian conditions and is forgiving of the variation in moisture and particle size that comes with agricultural fuel.

Because the turbine is a bleed-cum-condensing machine, steam can be extracted at intermediate pressure. That gives the plant the option of supplying process steam to a neighbouring industrial user alongside electricity, should such an arrangement be commercially attractive.

What We Do

Two connected activities, both built around the same local resource.

Power Generation

A 12.5 MW biomass generating station producing renewable electricity for the state grid and for industrial buyers.

  • Bleed-cum-condensing turbine, allowing combined heat and power
  • 60 TPH multi-fuel boiler, tolerant of bagasse and mixed agricultural residue
  • Inside M.I.D.C. with road access toward Ahmednagar and Aurangabad
  • Renewable generation, eligible under Maharashtra's RPO framework

Indicative estimates only. Assumes typical specific fuel consumption for each fuel, a grid emission factor of 0.71 t CO₂ per MWh, 100 kWh per household per month and about 12 tonnes per truckload. Actual figures depend on moisture, calorific value and plant operation.

Health, Safety & Environment

Operating disciplines that apply to every person on site.

Boiler & Pressure Safety

Certified boiler operation under the Indian Boilers Regulations, with scheduled inspection, documented permit-to-work and trained attendants on every shift.

Emission Control

Particulate control on the flue gas path and stack monitoring, operated to the conditions of the Consent to Operate issued by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board.

Fuel Yard Discipline

Controlled stack heights, defined fire lanes, moisture checks at receipt and housekeeping standards that reduce dust and fire risk.

Water Stewardship

Water drawn under M.I.D.C. allocation with metered consumption, condensate recovery and blowdown managed to permitted limits.

Ash Utilisation

Boiler ash is mineral-rich and is routed to agricultural soil conditioning and construction use rather than to landfill.

Contractor Safety

Contractors work to the same induction, personal protective equipment and permit requirements as our own staff, with no exceptions.
