Who We Are
SPARK GREEN ENERGY (AHMEDNAGAR) PVT. LTD. is a renewable power company operating a 12.5 MW biomass-based generating station at Plot No. B-4, M.I.D.C. Nevasa Industrial Area, Dist. Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.
The plant is designed to run on agricultural residue, principally sugarcane bagasse and press mud sourced from the sugar mills and farms of Ahmednagar district. Biomass is burnt in a high-pressure Isgec boiler to raise steam, which drives a 12.5 MW Triveni bleed-cum-condensing turbine coupled to a generator.
The company was acquired by Agrasen Sponge Industries through proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal. Under its new ownership the plant is being systematically revived: assets have been valued, the boiler and turbine are under technical audit, regulatory approvals are being restored, and fuel supply partnerships are being built across the district.
Our purpose is simple. Convert local agricultural residue into dependable electricity, keep the value of that residue within the rural economy that produced it, and operate to the standards expected of a licensed generator in Maharashtra.

Mission & Vision
Our Mission
To generate reliable renewable electricity from the agricultural residue of Ahmednagar district, operating our plant safely and transparently while paying a fair price to the farmers and mills who supply our fuel.
Our Vision
To be recognised as the most dependable biomass generator in Maharashtra: a plant that runs consistently, a buyer that pays on time, and a neighbour that leaves the surrounding villages better off than it found them.
Our Core Values
Five commitments that govern how we operate the plant and how we deal with everyone around it.
Safety Without Exception
High-pressure steam and fuel handling leave no room for shortcuts. Every person entering the plant works to the same safety standard, whether employee or contractor.
Transparency in Dealing
Published procurement criteria, written purchase terms, weighbridge records open to the supplier, and payment on agreed dates.
Respect for the Farmer
Our fuel comes from farms. We treat residue as a product with genuine value and price it accordingly.
Regulatory Discipline
Consents, returns and statutory obligations are maintained current, not reconstructed when an inspection is announced.
Environmental Responsibility
Emission control, water discipline and productive use of boiler ash are operating requirements, not optional extras.
Local First
Preference to local suppliers, local contractors and local employment wherever capability and quality allow.
Our Journey
From original commissioning to the restart programme now under way.
Company Incorporated
Spark Green Energy (Ahmednagar) Pvt. Ltd. is incorporated, with the aim of generating power from the agricultural residue of the Ahmednagar sugarcane belt.
Plant Commissioned at M.I.D.C. Nevasa
The 12.5 MW biomass generating station is established at Plot No. B-4, with an Isgec boiler and a Triveni bleed-cum-condensing steam turbine, designed around locally available bagasse.
Generation Suspended
The plant ceases production and subsequently enters insolvency proceedings.
Acquired by Agrasen Sponge Industries
The company and its assets are acquired through the National Company Law Tribunal process, bringing the plant under the ownership of an established industrial group.
Restart Programme
Asset valuation completed, technical audit of boiler, turbine and auxiliaries under way, regulatory approvals and utility connections being restored, and biomass supply partnerships being established across Ahmednagar district.
Return to Generation
Recommissioning of the plant and resumption of power supply, supported by a secured year-round fuel chain.
Green Energy Clean Energy
Biomass power closes a loop that starts and ends in the fields around Nevasa. Tap each step.
Carbon-Neutral Fuel
The carbon released when biomass burns was absorbed by the cane as it grew, so the fuel cycle adds far less new carbon than coal.
Cleaner Air in Villages
Buying crop residue gives farmers an alternative to open-field burning, a seasonal source of smoke in the region.
Income for Rural Suppliers
Fuel purchases, transport and plant jobs keep value inside Nevasa taluka and the wider Ahmednagar district.
Governance & Compliance
The approvals and standards that govern how we operate.
