About Us

SPARK GREEN ENERGY (AHMEDNAGAR) PVT. LTD. owns and operates a 12.5 MW biomass-based power plant at Plot No. B-4, M.I.D.C. Newasa Industrial Area, in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra.

The plant generates electricity by burning agricultural residue, mainly sugarcane bagasse and press mud, in a high-pressure boiler that drives a steam turbine. Fuel that would otherwise be dumped or burnt in open fields becomes renewable power for the grid.

Newasa sits in the heart of one of India's densest sugarcane regions. That location gives the plant access to mills, farmers and aggregators for a reliable, local fuel supply, and puts money back into the rural economy around it.

Part of the Agrasen Group

The company was acquired by Agrasen Sponge Industries through an NCLT process and is now being revived with fresh investment, technical audits and new fuel partnerships.

Green Energy Clean Energy

Biomass power closes a loop that starts and ends in the fields around Newasa. Tap each step.

Carbon-Neutral Fuel

The carbon released when biomass burns was absorbed by the cane as it grew, so the fuel cycle adds far less new carbon than coal.

Cleaner Air in Villages

Buying crop residue gives farmers an alternative to open-field burning, a seasonal source of smoke in the region.

Income for Rural Suppliers

Fuel purchases, transport and plant jobs keep value inside Newasa taluka and the wider Ahmednagar district.

Suppliers & Vendors

We are building long-term relationships with fuel suppliers and equipment partners as the plant returns to operation.

Biomass Suppliers

Sugar mills, farmers, FPOs and aggregators can register to supply fuel to the Newasa plant.

  • Sugarcane bagasse
  • Press mud
  • Cane trash, soybean and cotton stalks, and other crop residue

Frequently Asked Questions

What moisture level do you accept for bagasse?

Drier fuel burns better and is valued higher. Share your typical moisture content when you register and our fuel team will confirm acceptance and pricing.

Do you pick up biomass from the farm or mill?

Both options are possible. We can arrange transport for larger quantities, or you can deliver to the plant at M.I.D.C. Newasa.

How are suppliers paid?

Payment terms are agreed at registration, based on quantity, quality and delivery schedule.

Where can vendors send quotations?
